Creator of the theater and concert center
The founder of the cultural institution, located in Moscow, was the People's Artist of the Russian Federation Pavel Slobodkin.
The eminent composer and pianist was born into a family of musicians on May 9, 1945. Slobodkin was engaged in creativity from early childhood. The first large-scale success came to him in the mid-1960s, when he founded the vocal and instrumental ensemble "Merry Fellows". The team became one of the most popular in the country and even gained fame outside the USSR.
Slobodkin later met Alla Pugacheva, who was just starting her career, and invited her to "Merry Fellows". He also performed with the ensemble in Europe and took part inpreparing concerts for the 1980 Moscow Olympics. After decades of successful career, the artist set about creating his own theater and concert venue. Its grand opening took place in early 2002. It was from this period that a new star appeared on the Moscow cultural map.
