There are so many unknowns around us! Every day, scientists and ordinary people are getting to know the world around us more and more deeply. The natural phenomena that we encounter daily and are so accustomed to sometimes have very complex physics.

The concept of "natural phenomena"

In elementary grades, we are taught such a subject as Natural History. In order for the kids not to get lost and understand the presentation of the lesson, the information is given in accessible and short portions. From there you can also learn the main thing: the phenomena of wildlife are any processes that occur with objects of both the living and non-living world. Any change may have a physical or chemical basis. In this case, the original object can be modified and turned into another element.

Physical and chemical phenomena

Physical impact that an object or substance is subjected to can deform it, give it various other properties, change size and state, but the original substance itself remains unchanged.

An example of such a phenomenon of wildlife will be the process of changing the state of water in the lake. UnderUnder the influence of sunlight, the reservoir heats up, and the life of organisms in it changes. Those who love warmth swim closer to the surface. Others, on the contrary, hide in the silt at the bottom. In winter, the reverse process occurs: the water freezes and changes its state from liquid to solid. Life in the pond is also slowing down. However, the original substance itself - water - remains unchanged.

Phenomena of animate and inanimate nature, which have a chemical nature of occurrence, not only change any substance involved in the process, but also create a new one. In this case, various signs may be present. Gas evolution, color change, precipitation, light emission, the appearance of a smell or taste - these are the details in which chemical reactions differ from physical processes.

Types of phenomena of the surrounding world

Wildlife phenomena are also divided into climatic, geological and geomorphological, biological, biogeochemical and others. The most common are changes of the first and second types. Rains, snowstorms, droughts, global warming, typhoons are climatic phenomena. Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, soil erosion and others - geological and geomorphological changes.

Both of them, in turn, are divided according to the principle of duration:

  1. Instant - phenomena of wildlife that change the situation in a matter of seconds or minutes. They sometimes include earthquakes, lava eruption from a volcano crater, and others.
  2. Short-term - short-term natural events (from several hours to several days): full moon, rain, heat, flood and others.
  3. Long-term - phenomena of wildlife, the duration of which can be measured in months and even years: climate change (global warming), drying up of water bodies, etc.

In addition, all the events that take place in the world around us can be divided into seasonal and daily. For example: swelling of the kidneys, snowfall, flight of birds for the winter and others are examples of the first category of phenomena. The second includes sunrise and sunset.
