Arthur was born on June 22, 1931 in the city of Leningrad.
Mom, Lyudmila Tsivilko, sister of a very famous actress in the Soviet Union - Tamara Makarova.
Father, Adolf Tsivilko, who has German roots, worked as a simple accountant.
Parents divorced. It is not known why this happened, but there is an opinion that Adolf simply missed Germany very much and wanted to return there, but his wife opposed the move. There is another opinion, according to which Artur's parents were repressed, so the boy risked getting into an orphanage.
The boy's aunt Tamara Makarova was married to no less famous director Sergei Gerasimov. The couple did not have children, so without thinking twice, they decided to adopt Arthur, and Tamara gave him her last name.
Study
In 1949, Artur Makarov graduated from high school. He has been interested in literature since childhood. I decided to dedicate my whole life to it. He entered the Leningrad Literary Institute, from which he graduated with honors.
Later life
After his studies were over, Artur moved to the capital of the Soviet Union. The guy had a nice, sociable character, so he made many very good friends, among whom were celebrities and simply talented people.
He had a warm friendship with Vasily Shukshin, who invited him to star in the film, to which Arthur agreed.
He also had a good friend Vasily Tvardovsky, who liked the work of Artur Makarov.
In addition to the actor and writer, Makarov's friends were the artist Ilya Glazunov and the legendary poet, actor and singer Vladimir Vysotsky.
For a long time, Artur Makarov lived in the countryside, fully trying to plunge into the life reigning there, to get enough of the village atmosphere.
Writing career
Arthur decided to devote himself entirely to writing only in 1966. He published the stories "At Home" and "On the Eve of Farewell". The last story was madly admired by Tvardovsky.
Artur Makarov's stories were a success, but not everyone liked them.
In 1967, Makarov's stories were criticized by the Secretariat of the USSR Writers' Union: members of the Secretariat considered that the writer was belittling and impoverishing the image of a Soviet person. After that, the writer got a "wolf ticket". He was able to release the book only in 1982.

Arthur really liked life in the countryside. He loved fishing and was an avid hunter. They say he was able to kill 11 bears. But after Arthur saw an emotion in the eyes of a bear that he had previously seen only in people, he stopped hunting them.
The way he lived in the village, what life is like there, what kind of men, what kind of friendship they have - he showed all this perfectly in his stories.
Also, Makarov was very fond of unique weapons, he tried to collect them. He had a large collection of weapons, some of which were truly unique.
Artur Makarov's personal life
Arthur met his legal wife Lyudmila in 1960 near the monument to Yuri Dolgoruky. Artur was 29 years old, and Lyudmila had just turned 18.
They had a very beautiful, stormy romance, a good life together, but in 1980 Arthur met actress Zhanna Prokhorenko, inwho fell in love with no memory.
He just moved from his wife to Zhanna, while not in a hurry with a divorce. Everyone believes that Lyudmila did not want to get a divorce and did not make scandals for her husband, since she lived at his expense all her adult life.
Zhanna didn’t insist on a divorce either, she didn’t need a stamp in her passport, the main thing was that her beloved was there.
Death
Artur Makarov was killed in Zhanna Prokhorenko's apartment. Ironically, the murder weapon was a knife from his own collection. All of it was later stolen.
Many sources indicate that the true wife of the writer was Jeanne, but all his inheritance went to Lyudmila, he never divorced her.
