What is a campaign? We quite often meet this word used on the pages of newspapers and magazines, Internet portals and TV screens. But, interestingly, this term is always used in different contexts. And sometimes it's not so easy to figure out what it really means. It turns out that a campaign is one of the multiterms that contains several concepts at once. And they can relate to a variety of spheres of public, political, cultural and economic life. At the same time, perhaps, one can single out
some common features of these concepts, referred to in one word, and give a general definition: a campaign is a set of interrelated actions aimed at achieving a certain result. Now we will make sure of this.
Information campaign
For example, this event implies a set of measures to agitate the population (or other community of people) in order to convey the necessary knowledge to it or inspire the public with any opinion. Such a set of measures can be advertising that promotes a certain product on the market. Of course, it is not limited to simple videos or street posters calling on the consumer to buy this particular cookie or washing powder. No, an advertising campaign isa carefully developed marketing strategy, during which the preferences of the consumer, the characteristics of his behavior, the characteristics of the national market and the legislative system in the country are clarified. Preliminary processing of the so-called target groups (actually, those on whose demand advertisers are counting) is carried out. However, a campaign is not always the pursuit of purely commercial goals. Information activities can also be carried out by the state in the form, for example, of social advertising, which is
a sign of the state's concern for the growth of welfare, the well-being of the people, national he alth, the cleanliness of the streets and so on. The election campaign, on the other hand, is a kind of synthesis of the state and public, where several political forces carry out a time-limited conviction of the general public that they are worthy of taking places in the state administration apparatus, and it is their program that will ensure the most effective achievement of the interests of the state and the population.
Military action
Of course, you could not but meet such concepts as "Chechen campaign" or "Napoleonic campaign". Indeed, this concept is often used in relation to actions of a military nature. Here it also implies a set of certain consistent and interrelated measures, however, they are no longer aimed at propagandistic influence on the population, but at achieving superiority over the enemy army. This is achieved through the occupation of profitable territories, physical destructionenemy forces and so on.
Other definitions
Moreover, the campaign is not always associated with certain actions of people. Thus, Campania is a region in Italy and a small asteroid located in the solar system beyond Mars. The same name has the period of operation of a nuclear reactor, which it provides after one load of nuclear fuel.
